Split-Back-Wall / Dimensions

To understand the Split-Back-Wall option and compare office dimensions see: Dimensions & Split Wall

Floor

Our Offices come with a vinyl laminate floor, the ideal choice for this type of building. Other floors options can be laid directly over this.

Door, Windows & Ventillation

All doors and windows are PVC_U profiles and are double glazed, they are manufactured in the UK and come with a 10-year manufacture guarantee and high security locks.

All door and window frames are anthracite grey on the outside and white on the inside.

We offer two door options: a patio (sliding door) and a single hinged door.

Offices which have a sliding door can be configured without a window, but we include a vent(s) in the back wall which acts as both a trickle vent and can be fully opened, for general ventilation, the patio door can be slide open for more ventilation.

For offices with windows, we include a trickle vent, which keep the office aired when not in use.

If your ideal door, window size or position is not offered do contact us.

Cladding Options

Cladding is fixed onto the external walls, and it is constantly exposed to weather.

We offer three cladding options:

  • Siberian Larch
  • Western Red Cedar
  • Anthracite Panel

Most woods require frequent treatment and come with a significant maintenance requirement but Larch & Cedar have natural resins giving the woods protection and have a proven life expectancy of 50 years + when treated and fixed correctly.

Siberian Larch

Siberian Larch is very light in colour but greys with age. We treat it with a sacrificial grey which enhances its appearance in the first years. As the Larch naturally greys (as all woods exposed to the weather do) the sacrificial grey fades.

Western Red Cedar

Western Red Cedar is an extremely stable and attractive wood and ages even more beautifully and has great insulation properties. It’s probably the most popular material for traditional and contemporary building projects among architects and designers currently. It’s excellent all-round properties, natural beauty and demand is reflected in the price.

Cladding - Anthracite Panel

Anthracite Panel cladding closely matches the doors and window and complements the Larch & Cedar.

It’s a factory finished aluminium composite sheet material with a polypropylene core.

It offers a cost-effective alternative to the wood cladding especially for walls which are not seen, such as those positioned against a fence or wall.

Over time the Anthracite Panel colour will fade if it is exposed to UV light, whereas the wood cladding will continue to age beautifully.

Choose which wall to use Panel and Wood cladding in your situation for an optimal cost/benefit mix.

A bonus is we increase the thickness of the insulation behind the Panel cladding to balance it dimensionally with the wood cladding.

Wood Treatment & Fixing

This section provides information on the wood treatment we apply to the Larch and Cedar and it's fixing.

Like any natural product there are variation in the wood which give it its natural beauty, but wood cladding secured incorrectly will bend and warp, and the resins in the wood can corrode the fixings. This is why we always use stainless steel fixings well within the recommended fixing distances.

While both Larch & Cedar have natural resins which protect the wood for decades even without treatment, but as the wood ages and greys it can do this unevenly and black spots can develop in areas which are less exposed to the sun and without treatment the wood will pick-up dirt.

We treat the Larch & Cedar with Sansin WoodForce which is an ultra-low-VOC, durable wood treatment which allows the exterior wood to weather naturally while offering exceptional water repellence and protection from blackening, discoloration, and wood rot.

It keeps the wood clean and ensures the wood ages consistently and evenly even in areas not exposed to the sun.

We sand & treat the plank on both sides prior to fixing which balances them and significantly increases the absorption of the wood treatment giving each plank greater protection and enhances the look of finished product.

Cavity Circulation

We use a cavity gap behind the cladding planks as per best practice to allow air circulation increasing its longevity and stability.

Breather Membrane

The walls behind the wood cladding are wrapped in a breather membrane which gives protection against moisture ingress while allowing the walls to breath.

Materials & Build

The floor, walls and roof are manufactured in our workshop in a quality-controlled environment and then assembled at your location in a day.

C16 & C24 grade timber and OSB3 structural board is used for the structure.

PIR insulation with a thickness 70 to 90mm encapsulate the Offices providing a high level of heat insulation.

The internal walls are a factory finished aluminium & polypropylene composite sheet with a matte finish, so no decoration needed.

The EPDM rubber roof membrane has a 50-year life expectancy.

Care Instructions

The inside walls of the Offices are a composite sheet material.  We advise not to drill fixing holes in the walls if possible.

Detachable adhesives and suction hooks enable the walls to be used completely flexibly without making holes or marking them. See Accessories.

The interior walls can be wiped with a damp cloth to clean.

Regarding the external cladding. Holes should not be made in the Anthracite Panel cladding to avoid water ingress into the walls.

If fixings are used on the wood cladding always use stainless fixings, but keep to a minimum so as not to reduce the life expectancy of the product.

Choosing the gutter option under Accessories will keep your office cleaner and extend its life.

Wash down the outside occasionally.
